If you're on the hunt for an extraordinary sushi experience in San Francisco, look no further than Sushi Time, nestled at 2275 Market St. This charming sushi restaurant embraces the essence of Japanese cuisine, offering a delectable array of fresh sushi and sashimi that is not only satisfying but also beautifully presented.

The menu is rich with options that promise to tantalize your taste buds. Start with the exquisite Salmon Tartare or indulge in the oh-so-tender Walu Sashimi, each dish meticulously crafted to highlight the quality of the fish. For those who appreciate variety, consider the Sashimi Combo, featuring ten pieces of mouthwatering sashimi for just $34. Don’t forget to complement your meal with a side of their comforting Miso Soup or the invigorating Seaweed Salad.

Customers rave about the cozy atmosphere that Sushi Time provides—it's like stepping into a hidden gem, reminiscent of traditional sushi spots found in Japan. Kyle Sullivan, a loyal patron, describes it as his “favorite sushi spot in the city,” praising the unmatched service and consistent quality that keeps him coming back. With the ambiance exuding warmth and hospitality, each visit feels like a cherished occasion, whether you're dining solo or with friends.

Nora Rabah Rodden, another delighted customer, captures the essence of the experience perfectly: “A little small and cozy, but with friendly staff and reasonable prices, it has quickly become my new go-to.” She recommends the butter fish roll (spicy waru), a must-try that tastes just as delightful as it sounds, especially given that most rolls are under $10!

While it may take a bit of effort to locate the restaurant—just remember to look down the stairs from Market Street—the experience is well worth it. Each flavorful bite at Sushi Time transports you to a state of bliss where time seems to stand still. R M eloquently states, “You are transformed into a place you would find at any corner in any city in Japan." It’s a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, making each meal memorable.

However, be sure to arrive early, especially on busy nights; Scott H. highlights that it can get crowded, with a 25-minute wait not uncommon on weekends. Although some popular options may run out (like unagi), the affable service and fresh ingredients make up for it, leaving diners excited for their next visit.

In conclusion, if you’re in the San Francisco area and yearning for sushi that combines authenticity with comfort, head to Sushi Time. With its dedicated following and consistently delightful offerings, this little restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression that will have you dreaming of your next visit.

My favorite sushi spot in the city. The service, atmosphere, and food are second to none. I’ve been going on a regular basis for years (and so have many others, it always seems like there’s a table or two of regulars) and will continue for many years to come!

My new go to! Very small and cozy, friendly staff, reasonable prices, delicious simple sushi. Will definitely be coming back. My favorite was the butter fish roll (spicy waru). Most rolls are under $10!

The reason why I give this place 5 stars is not because they have the best sushi or the best service or the most stunning decor. No I give it 5 stars because as you walk in you are transformed into a place you would find at any corner in any city in Japan. Time stands still and the world is forgotten. And you simply enjoy your drink and food with friends or alone and absorb that moment of perfection. The sushi is perfectly cut and the rice moist but consistent so that every piece melts on your tongue. Treat yourself and step out of your daily rush and emerge yourself in a moment of bliss Japanese style.

A little difficult to find, if coming from Market, go down the stairs and it's on your left. The food was great, service excellent, and cozy place. Spent a lot, but only because of alcohol and so many sushi rolls

No reservations. Waited 25 minutes at 8pm on a Saturday for a group of 3. Fresh fish, nicely prepared rice, and crisp seaweed. They ran out of a few key fish (including unagi), which put a damper on some of the nigiri and rolls we wanted to order. Also, very little cooked food here. So order some miso or edamame to get your warm fix while eating.

Cute, intimate sushi spot with friendly, welcoming folks! There was a wait to get seated given it’s a small space, but it’s a great spot on market! The sushi was decent and reasonably priced

Sushi Time is one of my favorite spots. Cozy, kitschy, and always a vibe. It reminds me of those tiny sushi joints tucked into the streets of Osaka. Decorated with warm and homey Japanese touches, it’s the opposite of the newer, modern places that can feel cold or impersonal. The sushi is fresh and delicious. Masa, Mike, and Patrick are warm, funny, and make everyone feel welcome. I always leave full, happy, and already looking forward to coming back.
